To celebrate the Fourth, this weekend, I went to church and then participated in an urban version of "dinner on the grounds."
But on Saturday, I traveled across the state to rescue my mom from her 2nd trip to ER in one day!
I visited two little aussie birds site, and I love the "Betsy's closet" pattern! So cute.

How fun! I live one street over from Sea World, so our street really parties and watches SW's fireworks. I cooked a bananas foster upside down cake, we played with our own fireworks, and I captured the whole event with my new camera (which isn't easy to use at night, I'm finding).

I"m a big fan of cinderberry stitches so my favorite is the "tail feathers" BOM patterns.
OK...this weekend I went to a BBQ at a friends new house....it was very nice to eat food cooked by someone else! Also saw some fireworks in our neighborhood which was fun :) Favorite item on the site? The 4 seasons block of the month. I saw that quilt at the Fort Washington Quilt show years ago and didn't get it because I didn't know how to applique yet!....one thought in general...why do I LOVE all the quilty things that come from Australia? What is in the water down there?

This weekend, I had a friend over twice and we had a great time.
I went to the Lake and miraculously avoided a sunburn for me, my two daughters and my husband. the 3 of them are red-heads so you can imagine the amounts of sunscreen used.

1. Sewed up my Bee White Black Bee Blocks for July.
2. Cleaned a pulsator in the milk barn.
3 Changed 2 sets of inflations on the milkers.
4 BBQ'd and made a coconut cake... mmm :)

My boys and I enjoyed the fireworks last night! The almost 13 year old enjoyed lighting them; the 9 year old who is autistic enjoyed them w/out getting too upset by the noise and even did a sparkler with a big smile on his face; the 2 1/2 year old was cute, but did need to run around a bit by halfway through.

We stretched out the fourth over the whole weekend. Roasted marshmallows and hotdogs with friends, had a picnic with family, and shared homemade ice cream with neighbors. I love summer!

this weekend did some gardening, went to church, and sunday evening went to an overlook (parking lot of home depot!!) to watch fireworks. lots of beautiful fireworks and fun to see all the people who had the same thought as we did for where to go!!
